About the role
Permanent Full time opportunity to Permanent Full time opportunity to provide culturally sensitive mental health and social and emotional wellbeing services to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people incarcerated at Brisbane Womens Correctional Centre, Southern Queensland Correctional Centre and Woodford Correctional Centre.
About you
- Provide culturally appropriate therapeutic mental health and social and emotional wellbeing services to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in custody within Woodford Correctional Centre, Brisbane Womens Correctional Centre and Southern Queensland Correctional Centre, through the provision of support, cultural consultancy, peer supervision, and transitional care plans and coordination.
- Manage a case load of clients with varying needs and identified issues including mental health, substance use (alcohol and other drugs), cultural, trauma, grief and social support needs.
- Participate in the delivery of a range of mental health and social and emotional wellbeing interventions in a safe, competent and effective manner including counselling, health promotion/education, referrals across agencies, and transitional co-care management activitie
