Senior Design Manager
Job Overview
The Chief Operations Office Division is responsible for designing and constructing Council buildings, infrastructure, parks, streetscapes, and public domain programs.
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Design Manager to join our team working on Council community facility and building projects.
Key Responsibilities
Manage the design of complex community and commercial building projects
Develop strategies, programs, and service delivery to support the design team
Provide training and guidance to other design managers within the studio
Lead collaboration in multi-disciplinary and broad stakeholder groups to resolve problems, inspire considered outcomes, and establish design excellence, sustainability, and value
Applicants should have degree qualifications in Architecture with extensive experience in building design across all project phases, proven ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously, and demonstrated experience in contract management.
A strong track record in delivering high-quality design outcomes, with a focus on sustainability and innovation, is essential. Strong conceptual reasoning and problem-solving skills, as well as high-level communication, negotiation, advocacy, and presentation skills, are also required.
