Generate, develop and pitch ideas for original content which centre and elevate First Nations voices and perspectives.
Build and maintain strong networks within Indigenous communities and organisations across the country.
Travel for breaking news coverage and significant events as required.
About You / Qualifications
Advanced communication skills and proven experience in journalism and/or media broadcasting, including the production and presentation of original, multi-platform news and current affairs content (television, online and social media).
Understanding of, or experience in, camera, sound and editing systems is highly valued.
Deep understanding of Indigenous Cultural Protocol and the ability to communicate sensitively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
Ability to work as part of a small team with a positive, solutions-oriented attitude; able to work under pressure and meet strict broadcast deadlines.
Willing to travel for breaking news coverage and significant events.
This is a great opportunity for an Indigenous journalist or producer with a couple of years of newsroom experience to take the next step in their media career.

The Role (NITV INACA)
Working within NITV's Indigenous News and Current Affairs (INACA) team, the Cross Platform Journalist/Producer will produce original and engaging cross platform content for NITV's daily television and digital news platforms.
This role will see you:
Plan, research, write, edit and produce high quality news, interviews and feature stories across linear and digital platforms.
Generate, develop and pitch ideas for original content which centre and elevate First Nations voices and perspectives.
Build and maintain strong networks within Indigenous communities and organisations across the country.
