**About the Role**

Leading a large, skilled and established team, you'll relish the chance to work with a variety of stakeholders across a range of specialty paediatric areas.

This role is responsible for monitoring and managing the operational workload of the department and ensuring data accuracy and validity of referrals through available monitoring systems.

**Management Duties**:

- Monitor and manage the operational workload of the department
- Ensure delivery of customer service excellence by all team members
- Ensure clinics run efficiently and are accurately prepped
- Ensure completion of patient arrival, departure and coding to allow MBS billing
- Organise daily and monthly rosters including sourcing appropriate leave cover
- Update KRONOS daily to reflect roster ready for sign off by Practice Manager
- Provide escalation pathway to staff and actively seek to resolve queries or problems
- Act as a domain expert user of all software programs used by the Specialist Consulting team, including iPM and eReferral and undertake staff training
- Liaise with other departments regarding fault reporting, maintenance and purchase of equipment
- Assist in benchmarking activities and monitoring KPI's
- Contribute to and support service improvement initiatives as guided by Practice Manager
- Monitor appropriate KPI's to assist with management of staff performance
- Assist with the Co-Ordinator with management and review of clinic templates to ensure they align with workflow requirements

**Recruitment and Training**:

- Assist Practice Manager in workforce planning and recruitment of new staff
- Assist in the development of procedures, systems and training materials in relation to clerical functions
Identify ongoing training needs of the team and provide appropriate learning opportunities
- Ensure probation periods for new staff are accompanied by probation meetings
- Provide staff support to achieve agreed KPIs
- Orient new staff to the organisation

With tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline, you have already built significant capability and you can readily demonstrate:
Qualifications/registrations/licences _(italics indicate desirable):_

Bachelor of Health Information Management or equivalent_
- _
Certificate IV in Business Administration and/or Certificate IV in Customer Contact_
- Medical Terminology
- Technical skills/knowledge/experience
- Previous Management skills and experience
- Experience with business planning processes, quality plans and change management
- Ability to prioritise and complete competing and conflicting priorities within established timeframes, policies and guidelines
- Ability to manage confidential and sensitive material in a professional manner

Experience in people and change management is desirable and an understanding of specialist consulting operations will be an advantage. Previous experience in healthcare is strongly preferred.
