Senior Legal Counsel Opportunity
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Senior Legal Counsel to join our team. As a key member of our legal department, you will play a crucial role in providing technically excellent, risk aware and commercially sensible legal support to the business.
The ideal candidate will have experience advising on litigation and dispute resolution, ideally in relation to life insurance and other financial services businesses. You will be responsible for managing external disputes lodged with AFCA and other external bodies, managing and instructing external law firms, effectively communicating with senior management/stakeholders around key legal issues and potential risks to the business, and providing commercially focused high-quality legal advice.

About You:
To be successful in this role, you will need to possess:
Australian legal qualifications and a current Australian unrestricted practising certificate
Experience acting or advising on litigation and dispute resolution
Ability to constructively challenge, consult and advise, whilst maintaining solid relationships
Ability to effectively negotiate, influence and engage a broad range of senior internal and external stakeholders to drive business outcome
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
