Pegasus Care is looking for casual Youth Workers to partner with us and the Department of Communities & Justice to support a 14 year old from an Aboriginal background who has experienced complex trauma and presents with psychosocial disabilities.

We are looking for people who can demonstrate
- A strong background in or understanding of youth work and the out of home care / crisis accommodation sector.
- Experience with trauma informed care
- Experience with supporting young opeople with behaviours of concern including physicial and verbal aggression
- An understanding of psycosocial disability, particularly as these present in youth
- The ability to work as part of a team.

You will be working as part of a multi-disciplinary team. You will be responsible for creating a positive and nurturing therapeutic environment through the provision of trauma informed care and to support the Participant make progress towards her recovery goals.

The successful applicant will be supported by a cohesive team of support workers, a key worker and team leader to learn the specific skills to excel in this role. Training will be provided.

You will need well developed interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with a Team. You will need good communication (both written and verbal) skills and the ability to follow the routines and protocols in the setting in which you work.

To be considered for this position, ideally you will hold (or a near completion) a **minimum** qualification of a Diploma in Youth, or a Community Services related field. You must have demonstrated experience working with children and young people in a residential care setting, and an understanding of Legislation relevant to the role.

In addition, you will have highly developed communication skills (both written and verbal), strong interpersonal skills, crisis-management knowledge and intermediate computer skills. Disability and Mental Health experience will be highly regarded.

Essential Requirements for the role are
- Diploma in Youth Work or Community Services or Mental Health
- NSW Working With Children Check
- NDIS Worker Clearance Check
- Evidence of Australian Citizenship/Permanent Residency
- National Police Check (less than six months old)
- 100 points of ID - 3 documents
- Current NSW Drivers Licence
- Evidence of Vehicle Registration and Comprehensive Vehicle Insurance
- Current First Aid/CPR Certificate
- The required NDIS Orientation Modules
- 2 sector-relevant reference checks

**Job Types**: Part-time, Casual

Pay: From $43.08 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 30 per week
