We have an exciting opportunity therefore to appoint a Victorian based Energy Sector Leader to continue the team's growth on these projects as well as capture the wealth of energy opportunities evolving locally, nationally and across international projects that Mott MacDonald is engaged with.

The transition of Australia's energy system to a Net Zero outcome requires passion, dedication and leadership.
The Energy Sector Lead role affords an opportunity to work collaboratively with our global experts in the energy transition, and connect this thinking to local clients requiring localised solutions.
The role requires a highly experienced and locally well-connected energy consultant to lead and grow our Victorian energy team based in our new Melbourne office.
This is an important leadership role with both strategic growth and operational responsibilities.
The strategic growth component involves membership in a leadership team responsible for transformational energy growth within the APAC region.
The operational component of the role sees you as a senior leader within the Victorian business.

Attributes sought include: strategic/tactical thinking, ability to inspire and lead people, client centricity, technical excellence and effective communication.
- What we are looking for in the role
In the role, you will be required to lead, inspire and grow a team of energy professionals within a globally connected engineering services firm.
Previous experience leading and growing teams in a similar environment, as well as proven client and industry experience within the Victorian market is essential.
Leadership roles within energy sector projects, either client and/or consultant side is also relevant for the role.
This project experience can be across any or all parts of the lifecycle. Experience in communicating with executive level clients and management of multi-discipline teams in areas relevant to growth within Victoria, such as renewables, transmission and distribution, hydrogen, energy storage and/or other future technologies will also be valued.
You will be commercially agile, able to identify and mitigate risks and establish and meet critical deadlines whether working as an independent advisor or in leading a team. Prior experience with an engineering, management, or development consultancy would be highly valued.
