**About the role**:
The Infection Prevention Service that assists HNE Health Managers and staff to prevent and control healthcare-associated infection across all clinical environments. The unit provides a standard reference for safe practices relevant to infection prevention

As the Clinical Nurse Specialist, a typical day is varied. Surveillance activities, flagging infectious patients, investigating healthcare associated incidents, contact tracing and providing education to staff, patients and visitors are all within your wheelhouse.

You won't be working alone. You will be supported by the Nursing Manager, Epidemiologist, Clinical Director and the rest of the infection control team. Education and training are provided as part of our service orientation.

Just over an hours' drive north of Sydney, Belmont is situated on the beautiful lake and beaches of Lake Macquarie. The area is renowned for its water sports and nearby famous Hunter Valley Vineyards.

**Requirements**:

- Registered Nurse with current Authority to Practice with AHPRA and holds relevant clinical or education post registration qualifications.
- Eligibility to drive in NSW and willingness to travel for work is essential to this role

**This is a Category A position. Booster doses are highly recommended for all health care workers who have completed the primary course of COVID-19 vaccinations.
