What's the job?
The primary role of the Laboratory Assistant is to support the Laboratory Coordinator and ensure that they can perform their duties effectively. The Laboratory Assistant helps to improve the efficiency of an organization by enhancing the productivity of the Laboratory Coordinator. This allows the Laboratory Coordinator to focus on their core tasks, while the Laboratory Assistant takes care of more menial tasks and other responsibilities associated with preparing laboratory-based teaching sessions and spaces.
- Day-to-day accountabilities:

- Working closely with the Laboratory Coordinator and Academic staff:
- Ensure stocks of teaching materials are maintained- Class set up for simulations and assessments- Printing of learning materials, as required- Cleaning, refilling, relabeling and restocking of equipment / consumables- Recycling of suitable equipment- Ensuring laboratory spaces are clean and tidy- Other duties as determined on a case-by-case basis
- This is a casual role based at the Surry Hills Campus on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday with 5-day availability preferred.
