
State Operations Manager

Grays has an opportunity for a highly motivated and experienced operations manager to join us in our newly created State Operations Manager position. Reporting to the Operations Director, you will manage our warehouse and auto operations in Victoria across two sites - Dandenong and Laverton North. You will work collaboratively with all divisions within Grays, in particular our sales and customer service departments to deliver and efficient, high quality and positive customer and employee experience.
Your key deliverables will include delivering service excellence, driving process and customer experience improvements across the operations division in Victoria, managing the team and ensuring the safe operation of our Victoria sites. This is a challenging, critical role within Grays with endless opportunities to collaborate, contribute, influence and impact within a dynamic, complex and interesting setting.
**In this role you will be responsible for**:
- Overseeing the day-to-day function of the state operation and assisting the state Head of Sales.
- Ensuring Sales Managers and BDMs are regularly informed of sales & inventory activity.
- Oversight of warehouse and yard maintenance and activities; operational staff, processes and systems and ensuring the office and facilities operations run efficiently and effectively.
- Overseeing the effective booking in allocation of vendor stock and effective asset removal.
- Managing, developing and engaging operations team members and team leaders to support them to succeed in their roles.
- Ensuring customers and visitors enjoy a positive experience on site with friendly and efficient service.
- Ensuring all operations are secure from internal and external theft and that Grays security and privacy policies are complied with.
- Building and maintaining positive, productive and accountable stakeholder relationships in order to drive process, health and safety and customer experience improvements.
- Taking a proactive role in ensuring the achievement of metrics and KPIs, quality assurance and continuous improvement.
- Ensuring compliance with Grays WHS policies, procedures, and state Occupational Health & Safety legislation.
- Contributing to a positive, proactive, customer focused and accountable culture at Grays.
