About the OPPORTUNITY
We have two new exciting opportunities for Piping Supervisor's to join our Hunter Class Frigate program based at our state of the art shipyard facility at Osborne, SA.
You will be responsible for managing a team of 10 plus pipe fitters and ensure all activities associated with the manufacturing and production of materials is produced in the most cost effective manner and efficient use of resources, whilst meeting all safety, design, quality and budget requirement.

**Key responsibilities include**:

- Responsible for day to day management of team
- Implementing resource planning as directed by Superintendent
- Plan, manage and execute the delivery of production outputs to the required standard, as agreed with stakeholders.
- Deliver a positive and productive industrial environment, through effective leadership of all team members.
- Responsible for budgets and cost targets for projects, including meeting and monitoring budgets for projects
- Plan and manages the labour requirements for the production facilities in line with production deliverables, cost and budget targets.
- Improve the Production team capability, by identifying and developing potential management team members to take up future leadership roles.
- Provide reports on production activities, including progress to plans, issues and ideas to improve production.
- Coordinate work activities, facilitate running meetings, control activities of teams, provide training and use of work instructions, procedures and work steps and work orders.
- Responsible for understanding quality requirements and working to meet or exceed quality requirements

About YOU
- Certificate III in Metal Fabrication Engineering or similar qualification
- Proven experience in a supervisory position within the maritime, utilities or resources industries
- Previous background in piping, pipe bending, schematic piping, fabrication and installation processes
- Computer literacy to competent level and the ability to interpret engineering and isometric drawings
- The ability to communicate confidently and professionally within a multi-disciplinary project environment
- Well-developed time management skills and the ability to manage conflicting priorities and meet tight deadlines
- Defence security clearance or eligibility to obtain & maintain one
- A background in defence or maritime is desirable
- Certificate IV Leadership & Management is desirable
