Development Engineering Leader
This is a key leadership role within the Subdivision and Development Certification team, offered on a 12-month contract basis.
Job Description
The successful candidate will lead and support a team of professional engineers and planners to deliver timely and compliant development assessments and infrastructure approvals aligned with legislative frameworks.
Responsibilities include:
Coordinate and undertake engineering assessments for Development Applications, ensuring alignment with all relevant legislation and standards
Manage post-consent processes including Subdivision Works Certificates and approvals under the Roads Act 1993 and Local Government Act 1993
Provide technical guidance and leadership to a team of nine professionals across engineering and development planning
Drive continuous improvement in engineering policies, practices and the delivery of public infrastructure
Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to support precinct planning and development activities
Required Skills and Qualifications
Applicants must have:
Tertiary qualifications in Civil Engineering (or equivalent)
Minimum 5 years' experience in development engineering assessments and determinations
Demonstrated experience in managing applications for Subdivision Works Certificates and Roads Act approvals
Strong working knowledge of MUSIC and DRAINS modelling software
Current Class C Driver's Licence and White Card (General Construction Induction)
Proven leadership and team coordination experience in a local government or consultancy environment
