**Purpose / Objective**
To coordinate, schedule and provide support at ASC's Community Lunches at our Newtown office & Auburn Centre for Community.

Community Participation Lead
**Commitment Period**:
Minimum of 3 months
**Days and hours required per week**:
Weekly commitment onsite:
Tuesdays 11.000am - 2.00pm, Newtown
OR
Wednesdays 11.00am - 2.00pm, Auburn
OR
Thursdays 11.00am - 2.00pm, Newtown
OR
Fridays 11.00 - 2.00pm, Newtown

**Duties & Responsibilities**
- Welcome lunch volunteers and support them to create a warm, welcoming space for community members and diners
- Brief / remind the team on the purpose of ASC Community Lunches, including tips on communicating with people seeking asylum and maintaining boundaries.
- Set up the kitchen and support lunch volunteers to prepare, deliver, serve and store food to Food Safety standards.
- Orientate lunch volunteers to the kitchen, providing instructions for site safety (WHS) and safe use of equipment/appliances.
- Support lunch volunteers to leave the kitchen clean and tidy and pack up any leftovers into takeaway containers, clearly marking them.
- Complete an Attendance and Feedback form and other records as required for ASC reporting cycles.
- Respond to questions from lunch volunteers within the delegations of this role.
- Report any incidents to Line Manager or Incident Coordinator as they arise.
- Escalate any client needs, requests or concerns beyond the Lunch program to Line Manager, and/or Centre-based staff as they arise.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of the ASC Lunch Program.
- Contribute to specific food projects or opportunities as they arise, and as time allows.
- Other, as reasonably requested by the Line Manager.

**Selection Criteria**
- Experience in working with vulnerable people from various backgrounds and cultures.
- Experience working in a commercial kitchen and/or with food in a community setting.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with other staff and volunteers.
- Ability to lead a group of lunch volunteers, providing support, coaching and guidance as needed.

**Desirable**:

- Food Safety certificates and/or Hospitality qualifications will be considered favourably.
- Former clients and people with lived experience are encouraged to apply.

- Support a child-safe organisation by undertaking screening for suitability to work with children and vulnerable people and to comply with relevant state/territory legislative requirements
- Have received two doses of the COVID-19 vaccination.
