**Role Description/Criteria**

**The Position**

The Head of Counselling Services is responsible for the management of the Counselling Services Team, while also undertaking the work of College Counsellor. They will work in partnership with other members of the Counselling and Student Wellbeing Team, the Head of Learning Diversity, College Nurse, Teachers, and families to provide a coordinated approach to student wellbeing. They report to the Assistant Principal
- Wellbeing and Engagement.

**About You**
- Appropriate post graduate qualification in Psychology and registration with the Psychology Board of Australia (AHPRA)
- Extensive practice and knowledge of evidenced-based therapeutic practices as it relates to student wellbeing
- Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to liaise effectively with a wide range of people
- Highly developed decision-making skills, experience in implementing critical incident management plans and a demonstrated ability to think strategically, creatively, analytically, and problem-solve
- Strong organisational and time management skills, with an ability to prioritise tasks, meet prescribed deadlines
- Demonstrated ability to work within a team environment, and to lead a cohesive and effective team
- An understanding of the mission of a Catholic school and the implications for the work of the Head of Counselling Services in this context

A current Working With Children Check (employee) and National Criminal History Check are essential requirements of this position.
