Reporting to the Project Commercial and Controls Manager, the primary role of the Cost Controller is to record and monitor all projected spending and commitments made against the budgets. The Cost Controller will collaborate with heads of departments to analyse costs, assess vendor relationships, forecast cost and progress performance, you will also provide analysis to support effective decision making by management team.

**About The Project**

**SIMPEC** have been awarded $145M major construction contract for the FMG Iron Bridge Wet Process Plant Project in the Pilbara, situated approximately 145 KM's south of Port Hedland.

This project will include works consisting of major module installation, tank installation, major mechanical installation, large bore piping and electrical & instrumentation works.

**Roster**: 3 weeks on 1 week off

**Length of Project**:6+ Months work with possibility of extension into other projects

**Location**: Pilbara Region WA

What will your day look like:

- Ensuring accuracy of data reported.
- Data reconciliation.
- Ensuring an accurate representation of projects financial data is recorded and reported.
- Results being posted within timeframe set by Finance.
- Ensure accurate and consistent reporting internally and externally.
- Meeting agreed/contractual deadlines.
- Allocation of payments to invoices.
- Responding to client raised queries relating to invoices.
- Assist the Management Accountant, using accounting models to estimate and monitor cost of production and services.
- Work in conjunction with all department heads to ensure cost optimization.
- Provide critical assessment of all budgets and cost projections.
- Commit to maximising efficiency at all levels without compromising on quality.
- Effectively communicate with all levels of personnel within the organisation.
- Perform any other finance functions and related jobs assigned from time to time by supervisor.

Bringing the following skills with you will ensure your success and the success of our teams:

- A minimum 2 years experience is a similar role.
- Intermediate computing skills in MS Excel and Word.
- The ability to communicate well both written and orally with all levels within the organisation and externally.
- A working knowledge of a computer based cost management systems.
- Working knowledge of payroll software and systems.
- Team player/contributor.
