**Why St Andrew's?**
We are more than Australia's largest standalone private hospital with a reputation for excellence in patient care. We're a community, a working family. It's where everyone knows each other, leaders are approachable and patients return to work as volunteers. As summarised in our core values: We care for others. We work together. We deliver excellence. That's the St Andrew's way.
**About this role**
We are seeking a highly motivated Administration professional to join our Medical Records Team, to perform a variety of clerical duties such as maintaining patient medical records, including filing, retrieving and distributing medical records.
Other duties include:
- Filing and retrieving medical records by MRN in accordance with established colour coded terminal digit filing system
- Sorting, filing and collating a variety of medical record information such as pathology reports and correspondence into medical records in appropriate sequence
- Picking up and delivering patient medical records in accordance with prescribed daily schedules
- Responding to requests for patient records from hospital staff, medical staff, researchers and other outside agencies
- Maintaining security and access control for records
- Assembling and repairing patient medical records as required
- Answering the telephone promptly, using the accepted standard of greeting / name / department
Whilst the role will primarily work within the Medical Records Team, the role may also undertake some shifts in other areas of the Hospital as part of our broader Patient Services Administration Team.
**Hours**
This is a permanent full-time position working 75 hours a fortnight, with shifts times between 9am-5pm across Monday-Friday.
**Reasons to love this job**
1. You will join a team that is close-knit, flexible and supportive
2. City fringe location with onsite secure staff car park
3. Salary sacrifice options to increase your pay
**About you**
Other key requirements include:
- Sound customer service and communication skills
- Sound literacy and numerical skills
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Strong organisational skills and a focus on quality
- High level of confidentiality
- Ability to work within a busy environment and with tight timeframes
Any experience with patient management software is also important for success in this role and would be an advantage. Some experience in admissions, and the provision of face to face customer service to patients would also be an advantage. Previous experience in a Medical Records, or similar role, would be advantageous.
**Rewards at St Andrew's**
When our staff come to work, they are surrounded by friendly, supportive leaders, engaged team mates, and great facilities. We know that happy employees provide the best care, so we focus strongly on ensuring the wellbeing and engagement of our staff, including:
- flexible rostering practices, enabling staff to nominate their shift preferences to fit with their personal commitments
- a range of wellbeing programs and opportunities, including an on site gym, personalised support for employees experiencing mental health challenges and fortnightly wellbeing tips
- additional learning and development opportunities including scholarships for fully funded post-graduate studies
- a focus on supporting the health and safety of our workforce through dedicated WHS specialists, programs and locally based staff health and safety representatives in all areas.
**Opportunities to Grow**
As a large, standalone Hospital, we offer opportunities to work across a wide range of specialities, and our Executive Team are located on site, enabling them to interact with staff daily to understand challenges and opportunities. To offer the best, you need to be the best, which is why we provide great opportunities to further your training and development across all roles within the Hospital.
**About our Location**
St Andrew's is located in a picturesque setting, overlooking the Adelaide parklands which fringe the city centre. Close to public transport and convenient for cycling, St Andrew's also provides secure underground parking for employees.
