This is a national role that is hybrid and can be Sydney or Melbourne based.
The role of a BDM involves a mix of reseller relationship management, account management and development of new business.
A BDM needs to have a strong mix of strategic, relationship development and operational experience and exposure and are required to understand the consultative & the challenger sales processes.
The primary function of a BDM is to grow their vendor/s pipeline and ultimately increase the revenue to achieve the assigned gross margin targets and rebate targets.What you will do in the rolePrimaryAchieve/ Exceed Vendor and Dicker Data targetsGeneralForecast accurately throughout the month and quarterProvide customer service and sales support to all Dicker Data resellers when requiredAssist Dicker Data teams with opportunities and quote when requiredPresent a professional image at all times to Resellers and VendorsDevelop strong product and process knowledge for the vendor you representAcquire and maintain vendor Sales Certifications as directedAchieve KPI's as set by Manager100 Appointments per quarter and updated weekly in Territory planTerritory plan completed half yearlyVendor KPI associated to rebate achievementAttend one on ones with Manager and activity reportingAttend BDM Sales meetingsVendor reporting requirements on activityDevelop close working relationship with business unit and product managers; develop relationships with all territory managers and sales teamsConduct ongoing analysis of territory to identify resellers and target them for growth strategies and monitor the success of initiatives arising from territory planAttend Reseller and Vendor social and training events, which may be out of normal hoursTake all reasonably practicable steps to maintain the health and safety of yourself and others, and to minimise risksFollow Dicker Data's policies, procedures and reasonable instructions at all timesAbility to travel locally, interstate and internationally as requiredReseller ManagementManage and develop Reseller base, understand key personnel and specific reseller needsBe available to take calls, answer emails and process requestsFollow vendor special pricing process ensuring that all claims can be processed in a timely mannerWork as a team with your Account Managers and Product ManagersWork and support BDMs in other regions on aligned AccountsRegularly meet and form strong relationships with all Supplier contactsWhat you will need to succeed in the rolePrevious experience in a similar roleProfessional communication skills, both written and verbalExcellent presentation/ training skills and experienceProactive orientationHigh level of discipline, initiative and enthusiasmAble to work well in a team as well as autonomouslyStrong relationship-building skills with demonstrated ability to communicate and foster positive relationships with internal staff and with all levels of customer and vendor contactsA highly competitive salary package depending upon experienceHybrid and sustainable working environmentStaff only on-site gym & weekly corporate fitness classesA selection of freshly prepared lunch options provided dailyFree on-site parking and electric parking stationsA relaxed, modern office setting with smart casual dressAccess to discounted banking, superannuation, and health and wellbeing offers via our corporate partnersCompany paid parental leave schemeEmployee Assistance ProgramOn site school holiday program for children of Dicker Data staffOnly those with the legal right to work in Australia may apply for this position.Only short-listed candidates will be contacted.Eligibility and job detailsSeniority level: AssociateEmployment type: Full-timeJob function: Business Development and Sales; Industries: IT Services and IT ConsultingWe're unlocking community knowledge in a new way.
