About the Role
The Strategy & Business Case team in the Strategy, Commercial and Risk Division is seeking a
Strategic Financial Leader
to drive and manage financial analysis of key initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Lead a team of business analysts to ensure effective delivery of financial and cost analysis for business case submissions.
Undertake thorough cost-benefit and financial analysis to prepare reports examining proposal affordability and financing arrangements.
Provide consolidated financial view for proposed submissions and ensure consistency across reporting.
Manage project deliverables and timelines to meet NSW Treasury guidelines and requirements.
Collaborate with finance and project teams to apply best practice methodologies and deliver measurable outcomes.
Support business case development and proposals to ensure they are robust, data-driven, and positioned for successful approval and implementation.
Requirements
Tertiary qualifications in finance, accounting or equivalent with full CA or CPA accreditation.
Substantial experience in leading financial modeling for strategic programs in government or large organisations.
Sound experience in business case development, financial modeling, cost-benefit analysis, or economic evaluation.
Proven analytical skills to interrogate large datasets.
Excellent reporting, presentation, and communication skills.
This role requires strong leadership, organisational, and strategic thinking skills to influence strategy through collaboration, consultation, and data-driven decision making.
