**About the role**

We currently have two very exciting new opportunities within our busy and growing specialist insurance and litigation team in Melbourne.

The first, is for an Associate with between 3-5 years' experience, and the second is for a Senior Associate, with up to 8 years' experience.

Both roles will work mainly within the high profile practice of Partner, Nicole Wearne. Nicole is a Legal500 'Hall Of Fame' Australian insurance lawyer.

Chambers & Partners interviewees describe Nicole as "really good" and as "an impressive lawyer who has been a player in the Victorian market for a long time." She is also listed as a leading Professional Indemnity Lawyer - Victoria 2021 by Doyle's Guide.

Nicole is an experienced litigator with a highly successful, broad and busy practice that is renowned by both clients and the market. Her expertise includes providing complex coverage representation across financial lines, D&O, professional indemnity, catastrophe cover and trade credit.

Nicole also advises on, amongst other things, regulatory investigations and proceedings, financial services litigation, class actions, construction litigation, fidelity matters, risk and governance, and commercial disputes.

The nature and size of the team will mean that you are heavily involved in all aspects of matters allowing you to make a significant contribution to their outcome. This role will allow you to continue to develop your professional and personal brand.

You will work in a friendly and supportive team whilst having regular communication with Partners to continue developing your career in an international law firm. You will foster and generate client relationships and will engage in business development frequently, as well as mentor and develop junior level associates in the wider team.

**Required skills and experience**

Both the Associate role and the Senior Associate role require a strong focus on professional indemnity and coverage disputes.

You will have a solid insurance litigation background, ideally obtained from another defendant private practice, or from a mixture of private practice and in-house.

You will also have experience dealing with complex matters, be a real team player, and have superb organisational skills.
