About the opportunity
The Risk and Compliance (R&C) function has responsibility for enabling the Group to manage the risks associated with their respective area of focus in line with the Group's risk appetite.
In that support, the R&C function will enable the success of the business by instilling a culture of risk management as a core part of how we support our customers and ensure that we have the appropriate processes and practices to meet our compliance obligations.
AsOperational Risk Managerand reporting to the Senior Manager Risk & Compliance you are a key member of a 1LOD R&C team responsible for key activities in relation to the implementation and management of the risk and compliance framework within Finance by ensuring all risk activities are undertaken in a timely and accurate manner.
In this role you'll get to...
Perform all activities required for embedding and uplifting the management of the Operational Risk Framework insideGroup Finance.
Report and escalate any breaches of risk and recommend areas for improvement.
Ensure department risk registers are current in relation to findings and treatment plans.
Produce papers for and provide input into the Divisional Operational Risk Committee Meeting.
Facilitate and/or participate in the review of events, scenario analysis, root cause analysis and control validations.
Proactively promote a strong risk culture (through advice, support and awareness on risk matters).
What you'll bring to the role
To be successful in the role you will have:
Tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Finance, Business or related discipline with CA/CPA qualified nice to have but not imperative
Operational Risk experience in Banking and Financial Services Industry (Line 1 or 2 risk roles).
Demonstrated experience and understanding of risk associated with a Finance function, including some knowledge of Treasury, Market & Liquidity obligations.
Passion - harder to define, but we're looking for people who have a desire to push the limits, challenge the status quo, and be at the forefront of where risk can enable the business.
An eagerness to learn, expand your skills, and do the best work possible.
Excellent communication skills both verbal and written with highly developed influencing and collaboration skills to deliver on organisational outcomes.
Proven ability to manage multiple and complex tasks and meet deadlines.
Risk lens - Being able to understand customer and business needs and know when to focus on the big picture vs zoom into the details.

This role can be based in any of our head offices in Melbourne, Bendigo, Sydney, Brisbane, or Adelaide.
