**About the **Emergency Preparedness and Business Continuity Team**

Austin Health's Emergency Preparedness and Business Continuity team provides strategic planning and policy formulation to ensure continued safety of all stakeholders during an emergency or critical disruptive event. The scope of the portfolio includes prevention, preparedness, response, and recovery.

**About the role**

The Emergency Preparedness Coordinator will be responsible for supporting management in ensuring Austin Health has the appropriate policies, procedures, tools, resources and training in place to enable a streamlined response to emergency and critical disruptive events.

Key deliverable of the role include:

- Coordinating and assisting with the delivery of staff training in areas related to Emergency Management and Business Continuity.
- Supporting staff in complying with policies, procedures and mandatory training and continuing professional development requirements.
- Assisting with the development, updating and testing of the organisations plans
- Overseeing, tracking and coordinating Emergency Management and Business Continuity functions
- Recording and investigating incidents to ensure appropriate debrief, investigative and corrective actions are implemented.
- Ensuring non-compliance within the Emergency Management and Business Continuity remit is escalated appropriately.
- Establishing and maintain relationships with stakeholders

Establish and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders by attending appropriate meetings and participating in related network groups

**About you**

To be successful in this role you'll bring with you:

- Experience in coordinating and delivering emergency preparedness or business continuity training
- Excellent communication and problem solving skills
- A relevant qualification and experience in emergency management and business continuity is preferred
- Ability to work as a part of a high performing team

Selection Criteria Essential: Extensive knowledge and experience in coordinating tools to assist in emergency planning, response, and recovery processes.
Essential: Demonstrated understanding and awareness of Business Continuity Management and Business Continuity Planning arrangements.
Essential: Well-developed interpersonal, oral, presentation, negotiation, consultation and written skills including the development and presentation of reports to various levels of management.
Essential: Experience in providing small group training and assessment.
Essential: High level of skill in working autonomously and managing competing priorities, in high pressure environments.
Essential: Anticipate, identify and address issues and potential problems that may have an impact on organisational objectives and the user experience.
Desirable: Tertiary qualifications in Emergency Management, Business Continuity Systems or a related field.
Desirable: Demonstrated project management skills.
