We currently have a rewarding opportunity to work with us as a Blast and Paint (B&P) Coordinator within our Hunter Frigates Program based at Osborne. Reporting to the B&P IWT Manager, you will be responsible for supporting the Area Manager and the Ship Manager, to safely coordinate and deliver a key phase of work during the Shipbuilding lifecycle. The role requires coordination and leadership of a cross-functional team ensuring that safety, quality, cost and schedule for Ship construction meets program goals and deliverables.

This role is open to a 9-day fortnight and will be based out of our Osborne Shipyard site.

**Key responsibilities will include**:

- Supporting the B&P IWT Manager with coordinating and delivering a key phase of work during the Shipbuilding lifecycle
- Establishing strong relationships and working collaboratively with the customer and internal stakeholders
- Championing Safety, Health & Environment (SHE) performance and ensuring compliance with the SHE Management System, mitigating SHE related risks
- Accepting responsibility for and demonstrating a visible commitment to Quality, leading by example and setting high personal standards.
- Organising activities and tasks for specific projects, ensuring all activities associated with the manufacture, production and assembly/ installation of components are completed in accordance with safety, design, quality and customer requirements
- Coordinating and de-conflicting production activities in accordance with the Ship Plan of Day (SPOD)
- Facilitation of production issue resolution, to ensure that hold-ups to schedule are minimised
- Supporting Area/ Installation Managers with Control Account and Contract Master Schedule reporting obligations

**About YOU**

**You'll have**:

- AMPP Certified Coatings Inspector (NACE CIP Level 2 and SSPC PCI Level 2) (must hold)
- Previous experience in a heavy engineering and/ or defence environment; including environmental considerations
- Well-developed self-management skills and demonstrated ability to work under own initiative to deliver outputs safely, to schedule, quality, and cost
- Ability to use and adapt written and verbal communication skills to suit a variety of difference audiences is critical to this role
- Exposure to balancing conflicting priorities to deliver against customer and business requirements, with appropriate stakeholder management
- Ability to build and maintain effectively relationships with colleagues within and outside their immediate team, to implement business requirements
- AMPP NACE CIP 1 working towards NACE 2 (Desirable)
- Certificate III in Surface Preparation and Coating Application (Desirable)
- Train the Painter Coating Supervisor (Desirable)
- SSPC Coating Application Specialist Certification (CAS) (Desirable)
- 7 years industry experience (minimum of 2 years marine industry experience) (Desirable)
- Computer literacy, with intermediate knowledge of MS Suite. Familiarity with tools like SharePoint and AVEVA is desirable
