Trade Waiters for Bistecca and The Gidley

Sydney-based hospitality group, Liquid & Larder, are searching for wait staff to join the team at The Gidley and/or one-hatted restaurant, Bistecca.

The Gidley, found in Sydney's CBD on the corner of King and Elizabeth, is an opulent steak house, where fine dining meets semi-respectable displays of gluttony.

Bistecca is an unashamedly Italian restaurant dedicated to Tuscany's revered cut of steak, bistecca alla Fiorentina. The wine list has been awarded three goblets at the Australian Wine Awards.
About the Role

If you are not pompous in your delivery of service but you enjoy the ceremony of fine-dining, The Gidley is for you. If your preference is to work in a fast-paced dining room with a flair for providing a theatrical experience, Bistecca is for you.

While Bistecca and The Gidley have their own personality and offer different experiences, both venues are uncompromising in providing outstanding service and, more importantly, hospitality.

- An engaging personality, someone who shares a truly authentic passion for quality food, produce and where it comes from. Someone who is far from formal, but not quite colloquial.
- Not afraid to challenge the current conceptions around what restaurants should be and the style of service on offer.

Job requirements
- Setting and arranging tables
- Taking reservations, greeting customers and presenting them with menus and beverages lists
- Recommending dishes and wines to complement food (particularly in fine-dining establishments)
- Taking orders and relaying them to kitchen and bar staff
- Serving food and beverages
- Opening bottles and pouring beverages including mixing liquor and assisting in the cellar
- Clearing tables and returning dishes and cutlery to the kitchen
- Removing empty bottles and used glasses from tables, and refilling and replacing glasses
- Collecting payments for sales and operating points of sales machines and cash registers

Essential Requirements of Employment Include:

- A minimum of five years working in hospitality.
- A minimum of two years of experience running a section in an esteemed restaurant.
- A minimum commitment of six months.
- Responsible Service of Alcohol Certificate (RSA).

Liquid & Larder are Australian-based hospitality operators responsible for crafting some of Sydney's most loved venues, Bistecca, The Gidley, The Wild Rover and Grandma's.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Casual

**Salary**: $20.33 - $48.81 per hour

Schedule:

- 10 hour shift
- 8 hour shift

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Sydney, NSW 2000: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (required)

**Experience**:

- Customer service: 3 years (preferred)
