This Federal Government Department is a vital member of Australia's national security community and oversees many functions including international relations, scientific research and development, procurement and purchasing and industry development and cooperation. Their mission is to protect Australia's interests on both a national and international stage.

**Your new role**

As a high level coordination and liaison officer you will assist in the management and clearance of responses to Notices from a central taskforce and provide direct support to the Associate Secretary to ensure that their involvement with the taskforce's activities are supported.

**You will be responsible for**:

- Work collaboratively and operate as an effective team member.
- Engage positively with stakeholders, manage stakeholder engagement and negotiate beneficial outcomes if required.
- Required to support the broader team in the preparation, development and analysis of artefacts for the Taskforce.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Create, organize, and maintain digital files in accordance with established filing systems.
- Monitor and manage group mailboxes to facilitate timely and organized communication.
- Work closely with colleagues to coordinate and prioritise tasks.
- Prepare regular reports on the status of digital filing activities, including current completeness of files.

**What you'll need to succeed**
- Be able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing, has well developed strategic thinking skills
- an ability to work well with others, works well under pressure and is able to respond positively and with flexibility to emerging priorities
- Have excellent writing skills, including the ability to explain complex technical ideas clearly and succinctly if required.
- Ability to work with a multi-disciplinary team to produce high quality and accurate Defence documentation as required.
