Position Overview:

The Audio Visual Support Officer operates under direction from the AECCC (Australian Electoral Commission Command Centre) Watch Keeper and assists with providing general support and level 1 audio visual services to the AEC Command Centre.

The AV/Support Officer role will engage with AECCC staff and colleagues across the AEC to the ensure that the administrative functions of the Command Centre operate efficiently.

During Election Mode, the AECCC hours of operation will be extended outside standard business hours and staff may be required to work across shifts. An elevated work cadence will be vital over extended timeframes for briefings, handovers, processes and relationship building with other business areas.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert advice for all audio-visual within the Command Centre (training will be provided)
  • Assist in the remediation of any issues regarding audio and visual within the Command Centre, Media Hub, Landing Zone, Secure Room and Rapid Response Room
  • Ensure that audio and visual devices are operational prior to meetings within the above-mentioned rooms
  • Communicate with other audio-visual specialists to request assistance when required.
  • Assist in the smooth running of the Command Centre
  • Provide administration support to the Command Centre
  • Assist with the physical room access, system accesses and room arrangements for meetings or increased staffing
  • Administer the sharepoint log books on the Command Centre SharePoint page
  • Rearrange the room as required for meetings or increased staffing
  • Operate professionally using AEC training, resources and procedures provided
  • Perform additional duties or assume responsibility of functions as directed from time to time

About the team :

Chief Information Officer Division: The CIOD leads and supports a range of AEC projects/programs including, but not limited to, the Modern Workplace Program, Cloud Technology Project, Polling Place Technology Project, and the Election Systems Modernisation Program (Indigo Program).

Indigo Program (Tranche 2): The Indigo Program is a large-scale transformation program to modernise business capabilities and replace core election ICT systems with a citizen-centric, agile technology platform. The Program will transform the AEC's delivery of electoral services and ensure ongoing integrity of the electoral system. Tranche 2 comprises a variety of work packages with a focus on business process re-engineering, data management, legislative compliance and replacing aging systems.

Essential criteria :

  1. Technical skills in the use of audio visual equipment, including Microsoft Teams Rooms.
  2. Experience in supporting audio visual equipment and staff using the equipment.
  3. Demonstrated computer literacy, in particular with corporate systems and multimedia technologies.
  4. Proven ability to act with discretion and integrity in managing sensitive and confidential information.
  5. Demonstrated experience in the provision of administrative support to programs.
  6. Proven ability to communicate effectively whilst responding to stakeholder needs and expectations across a geographically dispersed network.
  7. Operate professionally using AEC training, resources and procedures provided
  8. Demonstrated personal integrity whilst achieving results within legislative and policy parameters.

Desirable criteria :

  1. Understanding of, and ability to contribute to the preparation of reports, documents and plans
  2. Experience with Crestron control and digital media, Q-SYS audio DSP, and Teams room video conferencing would be an advantage
