SkyPoint is located atop the tallest tower in Australia, with views stretching from Byron Bay to Brisbane. In addition to the Observation Deck, SkyPoint is one of the Gold Coast's most premium and unique event venue. Stretching across multiple event spaces including a grand ballroom, level 77 and the exclusive level 78, SkyPoint caters for events up to 400 guests offering conferencing, corporate and social dinners, weddings and everything in between.
This exciting role suits someone with a strong background in event operations able to work autonomously to deliver exceptional events. The Events Supervisor plans and oversees all front of house event operations to ensure SkyPoint delivers high-calibre service and premium event offerings, as well as supporting the team through training and coaching. You will take ownership of each event and ensure all SkyPoint events, no matter how big or small, are extraordinary and have guests coming back.
**Reporting to the Assistant Manager of Event Operations, you will**:
- Receive event orders from the Events Coordinator, undertake planning and provisioning to bring the client's vision to life;
- Supervise the event, or concurrent events, liaising directly with the client and delivering a high-quality event;
- Work closely with the team providing coaching, on the job training, performance management, and a hands-on leadership that motivates the team to excel;
- Develop team performance including customer service and service standards;
- Maintain optimum staffing levels and control departmental costs and budgets;
- Ensure the team works safely and efficiently at all times, while maintaining a high standard of product quality and presentation;
- Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives;
- Develop and maintain operating procedures as well as supporting training documentation;
- Support Management in processes such as recruitment, stocktake, new initiatives and rostering.
**To be considered, you must be able to demonstrate**:
- Minimum 2-4 years' experience within a similar event service/hospitality environment and a demonstrated, hands-on ability to effectively lead, coach, mentor and develop teams at the frontline;
- Ability to comfortably and effectively negotiate and resolve complex situations;
- Attention to detail and ability to multitask
- Performance management and conflict resolution;
- Passion and enthusiasm for delivering an outstanding guest experience and history of instilling and maintaining a positive and professional service culture within a fast-paced, high-energy team environment;
- Previous experience working to wage and COGS budgets;
- Hold a current Responsible Service of Alcohol certificate, and a proven ability to work across bar, food, and/or guest service operations;
- Demonstrate exemplary communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.
This role will be suited to a positive, outgoing, career-minded individual who has a passion for events and would thrive in an environment where they can make a positive contribution by leading a team to deliver an exceptional event and memorable guest experience. Flexibility with working hours is essential as weekend, early morning and evening work is involved, as is the ability to perform manual handling and physically demanding tasks.
This is a full-time role working 38hrs per week. Weekly pay is $999.80. Cash bonus scheme currently available if eligibility requirements are met of an additional $1.50/hour paid as a quarterly bonus.
