**The Role**:
Are you a media and communications specialist, with experience in internal communications, seeking your next contract in state government?

We are seeking a passionate External Relations Manager to deliver a range of media materials, as well as communications plans for external stakeholder engagement. You will generate and quality assure content for multiple platforms across this state government authority.

The role also assists with broader communications planning and media relations.

You will also actively participate in a broad range of communication tasks, events and activities to support the delivery of the Division's work.

**VPS5 Equivalent | Contract to June 30 | Immediate start**

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Quality assure Notices to schools and management communications
- Support business or project areas to develop and execute internal communication
- Assist in the development of internal communication strategies
- Develop and quality assure content for internal communications
- Assist in the management and development of media and communication functions to meet quality standards and timelines
- Coordinate media visits, write media releases, place advertisements and analyse results
- Write news stories, features articles and other media-related communications for both online and print publications
- Manage external communications and engagement activities to meet quality standards and timelines
- Develop and quality assure content for external communications
- Monitor, evaluate and report on communication and engagement activities

**About You**:

- Ensure written communications contain the information necessary to achieve their purpose, ensuring appropriate style and formats are used
- Ensure project objectives are met by anticipating and managing potential and emerging issues
- Produce project plans where objectives are clearly defined and action steps for achieving them are clearly specified
- Finds innovative solutions to resolve stakeholder issues
- Identifies and responds to stakeholder's underlying needs
- Identifies issues in common for one or more stakeholders and uses to build mutually

beneficial partnerships
- Uses understanding of the stakeholder's organisational context to ensure outcomes are achieved
- Understands issues and pressures to which the organisation has to respond
- Understands the reasons behind the organisational climate and culture
- Tertiary degree in communications or similar would be highly desirable
