**Position Information**:
Gymea Bay Public School is situated in the midst of suburban homes, a local preschool and a community sporting facility, 27 km south of the Sydney central business district. The school is a focal point of the community, catering for students in Kindergarten to Year 6.
The school's logo of the Gymea Lily, soaring to heights, and its motto of "Forever Flourishing" (which means to be forever growing rapidly towards success and thriving in our environment), are embraced in the vision statement. To ensure we live up to this logo, motto and our vision statement, we continually aim to ensure students, staff and community are future focused, through goal-oriented targets. With a student enrolment of 762, the school has a teaching staff of 45.
There are strong relationships with an energetic P&C consisting of parents, caregivers and the wider community. Gymea Bay Public School has a proud sporting and performing arts history and promotes student respect, responsibility and lifelong learning, together with a desire for all staff and students to strive for their personal best.
**Selection Criteria**:
In addition to the general selection criteria, approval to teach infants and/or primary,
- Demonstrated ability to build the capacity of others through evidence based practices, into effective classroom practice that leads to successful outcomes for all students.
- High level instructional leadership to drive school strategic planning and evaluation
- Proven ability to harness and foster leadership capacity and development, building effective teams and enriching the school's existing high expectations culture
- Demonstrated ability to engage and build strong, authentic connections with our school and wider community to deliver and maintain school excellence while nurturing a positive and inclusive culture.
**General Selection Criteria**:
1. Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice
2. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs
3. Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams
4. Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents
5. Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning
6. Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policies
