OverviewK&R Hydraulics, a well-established hydraulic repair and manufacturing company located in Thornton, is currently seeking an experienced and results-driven Machine Shop Manager to lead operations in our Machine Shop and Welding Bay.This is a hands-on leadership role, ideal for someone with a strong trade background in fitting and machining, combined with excellent people and operational management skills.What You'll Be DoingManaging the production schedule to meet internal and external delivery deadlinesSupervising, planning, and prioritising daily activities across the Machine Shop and Welding BayDriving continuous improvement initiatives across processes and systemsOperating machines when required to meet urgent deadlinesAssisting with quoting, project management, materials purchasing, and quality checksCoordinating preventative maintenance for all shop equipmentWhat You'll Need to SucceedWe're looking for someone who brings leadership, technical skills, and a proactive mindset.
To be successful, you'll need:5+ years' experience managing staff in a machine shop or similar workshop settingCAD/CAM training and proficiencyProven ability to lead cultural and operational change in a workshop environmentHigh-level computer literacy and strong communication skillsAbility to pass a Pre-Employment Medical, including Drug & Alcohol TestingFull work rights in AustraliaWhy Join Us?
