Job Summary:
The Level 5 Operator works independently to perform a range of tasks within a technically complex production area.
This role involves monitoring and manipulating processes, ensuring the quality of their own work as well as coordinating the work of other employees.
The operator will be responsible for addressing non-compliance, leading safety initiatives, and contributing to continuous improvement efforts while maintaining operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
Process Operation:
Operate a technically complex production area, performing complex manipulations within broad parameters across the production process.
Monitor and adjust processes and equipment in a timely manner based on test results to ensure optimal performance.
Coordination and Communication:
Coordinate activities across the entire production process to ensure seamless operations.
Conduct and monitor detailed changeover communications required for production operation and planning.
Safety and Compliance:
Lead safety improvement programs across teams in alignment with identified safety objectives.
Monitor the implementation of Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) standards and safe work practices.
Conduct workplace assessments and respond to hazardous events and emergency situations.
Investigate incidents and complete incident investigation documents accurately.
Quality Assurance:
Recognize, report, and remove barriers to quality systems, ensuring compliance with all applicable standards.
Utilize continuous improvement strategies for quality systems, including managing Defective Good Notices, Holds, and quality control points.
Conduct Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP) assessments and ensure all food safety systems are adhered to as directed.
Address non-compliance issues effectively and understand the principles of Quality Management Systems (QMX).
Maintenance and Troubleshooting:
Locate equipment faults and diagnose issues to the root cause.
Repair and/or replace faulty components as necessary.
Confirm that maintenance has been completed to specification and ensure all equipment is operating efficiently.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certification in a relevant field is preferred.
Extensive experience in a manufacturing or processing environment, with a strong understanding of complex production processes.
Proven ability to lead teams and coordinate activities effectively.
Strong knowledge of safety protocols, quality control systems, and continuous improvement methodologies.
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
Digital literacy / system proficiency into SAP highly regarded.
Valid forklift license highly regarded
Physical Requirements:
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and stand for extended periods.
Capability to lift and move items as required.
