Overview Aurizon is currently seeking a shunt qualified Freight Operator (Level 4) for our Mackay Depot.

About the role Shunting and yard duties (including cleaning)Examine and certify trains as ready for departureUndertake the theoretical and practical components of the training programEnsure that the loading and unloading of customer's products are carried out efficiently and safelyConduct brake testing of trainsEffectively communicate with other depot personnel face to face and via two way radio About you Shunt Qualified (mandatory)C Class Manual Drivers Licence (mandatory)A willingness to work a 24/7 roster and shift lengths of up to 12 hoursStrong commitment to safetyMechanical aptitudeStrong problem solving and communication skillsAs part of the company's recruitment and selection process shortlisted applicants will be required to undertake psychometric testing, criminal history check and successfully pass a pre-employment health assessment that will involve drug and alcohol screening.
