Aboriginal Legal Service (ALS) was established over 50 years ago in response to a protest movement. We provide high-quality, culturally safe legal and support services for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people throughout NSW and the ACT.
**What Will You Do?**
In this role, you will be a key member of a highly collaborative team, driving continuous improvement in our HR processes. Ensuring seamless and efficient operations in critical HR areas such as employee records, onboarding, compliance, payroll, and offboarding, you will be instrumental in managing essential day-to-day HR support functions.
Each day, you can expect to:
- Update employee records across HRIS, spreadsheets and SharePoint
- Assist with onboarding, including document collection and organising IT access
- Organise pre-employment background checks, documenting & sharing outcomes
- Manage documentation for internal movements and process changes.
- Support offboarding by ensuring exit interviews and checklists are completed.
- Answer employee inquiries which relate to HR policies and payroll
**Who Are We Looking For?**
You are a highly skilled and motivated individual with a thorough understanding of the cultural, social, and historical needs of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. You will be able to demonstrate:
- Previous experience providing administrative support preferably within a similar role
- Attention to detail and superior organisation skills
- Managing competing priorities and tasks to strict deadlines
- Demonstrated ability to seek guidance and escalate issues appropriately when required
