**About the Role**:
Day to day responsibilities include:

- Provide high-level technical advice across the design, performance, and service functions of emergency services communications systems, including the alerting systems contracts and relevant standards
- Offer expert technical support to stakeholders, ensuring high-quality advice and recommendations for the operation of alerting systems
- Support change initiatives for alerting systems, ensuring proper integration and managing related issues
- Advise the Senior Manager, Operational Telecommunications Systems and the State's Contract Manager on service requests and contract modifications, assessing risk and impact on systems like EAS, SAS, and TZV CAD
- Conduct research and analysis on complex technical issues, such as network performance and capacity, and lead the resolution of emerging risks and trends
- Mentor and support the development of the Alerting Systems Technical Specialist while managing operational incidents, changes, and issues, including after-hours coordination as needed.

**About You**:
To be successful in this role, you will need to demonstrate the following skills and experience:

- Extensive experience in the Emergency Services Sector, particularly in an Operational Communications environment
- Proven leadership skills with current experience in managing and leading high-performing teams
- In-depth knowledge of critical alerting systems, with a focus on the Emergency Alerting System (EAS) service
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders.
