Mainframe System Administrator

We are seeking a highly skilled Mainframe professional to join our team in Melbourne. As a seasoned system administrator, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining our mainframe core systems.

  • Focus on transaction/database core systems, ensuring the latest technology is implemented, and platform & subsystems are patched, supported, and up-to-date.
  • Lifecycle management of RESVOL, HIPER, MCL, IODF, etc.
  • Subsystem (Application) Capacity management.
  • Next-gen subsystem software IMS/MQ/DB2.
  • Promote/support efficient Database coding practices.
Mainframe System Management Purpose
  • Focusing on Systems Management, reducing downtime through analyzing and improving our platform.
  • Capability uplift - DR, Insite Recovery, HA, VIPA, redundancy, etc.
  • Focus points for Recovery, Incident, and Problem management.
  • Delivering key security technologies and initiatives such as ACF2, Syschange, CyberArk, Encryption.
  • Supporting Application customers to run efficient and sustainable code (CICS/Broker).
Key Skills Required
  • Change planning, management, scheduling, and implementation.
  • Subsystem incident remediation (Automation/CICS/BROKER).
  • Subsystem design/build/support (CICS/Broker/Automation).
  • High availability system design and build.
  • DR strategy and design (system and subsystem levels).
  • Automation of services (auto start/fail over and alerting).
  • Platform management for availability (design/build/support).
  • Security & compliance identification, reporting, and remediation at a system level.
  • User Access Management reviews.
  • Automated event management (alerting design/build/maintenance).
  • Automation of subsystem availability (start/stop sequence, availability mapping).
  • Automation of system availability (incl. start/stop sequence).
