**About the Company**

Santos is one of the leading independent oil and gas producers in the Asia-Pacific region, supplying the energy needs of homes, businesses and major industries throughout Australia and Asia.

Chandler Macleod, in collaboration with Santos, is currently seeking office and field-based professionals for contract opportunities across Australia.

**About the role**

Based at Santos' Brisbane CBD offices and operating under a hybrid working model, this position is accountable for the full procurement and contract management lifecycle, specifically for their PNG assets.

To optimise your handover with the outgoing parental leave staff member, you will be available to commence within 2 weeks.

Role responsibilities:

- Performing full life cycle procurement and contract management tasks and delivering sustained value
- Collaborating with internal stakeholders to understand business needs and sourcing strategies aligned
- Combining with procurement colleagues to develop and deliver procurement category plans
- Partnering with suppliers to lead negotiations and ensure their performance against contracts, SLAs, KPIs and other business requirements
- Identifying and delivering cost and business efficiency outcomes
- Developing negotiation plans in collaboration with stakeholders, ensuring pre-approval for possible fallback positions and authority to negotiate effective outcomes
- Identifying and actively mitigating supply risks

**About you**

To be successful in this position you will demonstrate:

- Experience in a similar procurement or category management role, ideally within a large and commercial environment
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- A track record of innovating commercially and operationally astute procurement solutions
- Experience with SAP or similar large e-Procurement systems is highly desirable

You will also ideally be degree qualified in supply chain, law, business or commerce.
