We are looking for a Category Specialist – IT Services to assist with the development and implementation of the Global Technology IT Services category strategy globally. This will involve significant engagement and collaboration with stakeholders to ensure that the commercial outcomes align with business needs and requirements.
This role is a great opportunity for a commercially minded individual, who has credible experience, has an appetite to resolve complex supply chain challenges, can visualise the 'bigger picture' and is results driven through the delivery of sustained and tangible value. Reporting to the Principal Advisor – Technology IT Services, you will:
- Contribute to rigorous 'fact base' development based on external/internal dynamics that will be the basis of the category strategy development and implementation, contract implementation and contract/supplier management.
- Lead and deliver strategic technology IT Services sourcing projects.
- Undertake supplier relationship management (SRM) activities with preferred suppliers.
- Build and manage effective relationships with a broad range of internal stakeholders.
- Provide commercial leadership and guidance to broader organization in relation to the category.
- Build and grow relationships with category suppliers to drive innovation and value.
- Collaborate with other areas of the broader technology procurement team who support the category.
- Possess strong interpersonal skills and have the ability to influence and manage potential conflict in a constructive and effective manner – as well as being a key team contributor.
What you'll bring
To be successfully considered for this role, you will have:
- Strong alignment to Rio Tinto's values of courage, care and curiosity
- Prior experience in Technology Procurement with deep knowledge of IT Services in a global domain as well as a proven record of leading to drive successful commercial outcomes
- Collaborative approach with ability to establish and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- High level of understanding of end-to-end procurement processes
- Strong influencing, stakeholder engagement and change management capabilities
- Able to think and act strategically, manage multiple projects and effectively prioritse whilst delivering successful outcomes
- Experience in developing commercial strategies, business recommendations and be able to lead supplier negotiations
- Proactive with the ability to be autonomous, and contributor to a positive and strong team environment
