Procurement Manager Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled Procurement Manager to join our team in North Brisbane.

About the Role

The procurement team is responsible for sourcing products and services required by internal stakeholders. As a Procurement Manager, you will be responsible for managing and guiding the procurement of various indirect categories, including ocean freight, travel, LPG, PPE/Industrial Consumables, and others as assigned.

  • Develop and implement innovative procurement solutions to drive transformational change within the organization.
  • Establish strategic relationships with suppliers to ensure sustainable best value and minimize supply risk.
  • Participate in the development of procurement frameworks, policies, procedures, and processes to reduce costs, add value, and improve service delivery.

You will have extensive experience and knowledge with ocean freight.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide expertise and support to the wider procurement network or business units as required.
  • Manage stakeholders to ensure their needs are understood and that they comprehend procurement policy and strategies.
  • Build and maintain key stakeholder relationships to ensure sustainable best value and minimize supply risk.
  • Undertake robust sourcing exercises and contract negotiations to extract full value from third-party suppliers.
  • Actively manage supply and commercial risk related to the supply of indirect categories.
  • Lead and execute implementation of initiatives within expected timeframes.
  • Track savings of each initiative.
  • Manage client Modern Slavery 3rd party tools and various Registers.
  • As requested, undertake projects or activities as required.
About the Individual

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Experience procuring and managing indirect categories in large or complex organizations.
  • Proven experience providing service to internal stakeholders to achieve successful project outcomes.
  • Excellent relationship building and interpersonal skills, seen as engaging and able to build trust and rapport with diverse stakeholders.
  • Ability to translate between technical and commercial outcomes.
  • Commercial contract experience, including a high level of legal aptitude.
  • Highly effective influencing and persuasion skills at all levels within organizations.
  • Proven project and change management expertise in challenging industries or organizations.
  • Knowledge of procurement best practice.
  • Demonstrated capability for problem solving, decision making, sound judgment, assertiveness.
  • Strong negotiation and influencing skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • High level of adaptability and agility, including time management to support key stakeholders.
  • Understanding of Modern Slavery.
  • Advanced data interrogation skills, providing concrete outcomes.
  • Advanced Excel skills.
  • Related degree qualification.
  • MCIPS preferred.
