**About the role**:
Origin is currently recruiting for several roles that will be integral in embedding a simpler, more efficient more strategic procurement operating model at Origin. These positions will span several functions, including Materials & Logistics, Corporate & Professional Services, and Operations & Maintenance services

The Specialist - Contracts performs a key role that sits within the Procurement Services Team. The incumbent applies their strong contracting and contract management knowledge in working with stakeholders across various Origin business units within their assigned category in accordance with the Procurement Lifecycle Management framework and processes.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Understand and contribute to Origin's strategy through tactical contracting, contract management, and support for supplier management frameworks.
- Lead the negotiation and drafting of supplier agreements, ensuring alignment with legal guidelines and business risk profiles.
- Administer the commercial aspects of contracts, ensuring all services are delivered as per contract conditions.
- Contribute to monthly value realisation metrics and assist business units in developing effective contracting strategies and commercial propositions.
- Work collaboratively to build strong relationships, foster a positive culture, and contribute to team capabilities and productivity.
- Observe established process standards, contribute to functional frameworks, and ensure compliance with corporate policies and procedures.
- Assist in developing cross-team capabilities to identify, measure, mitigate, and eliminate significant process risks.
- Actively comply with and promote all relevant Occupational, Health, Safety, and Environmental legislation, policies, and procedures, influencing optimal HSE performance in supplier selection.

**What will you bring?**

You will role model Origin's values, be self-driven, with ability to be proactive and take initiative. A team player with ability to work collaboratively with a broad range of people across levels, building positive, productive working relationships.
- 3-5 years in a Procurement or Commercial team, demonstrating strong commercial and business acumen, including risk appreciation.
- Proven experience negotiating with suppliers and drafting contract terms and conditions.
- Solid knowledge and experience with procurement systems like Ariba, SAP S/4HANA, or similar.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, with demonstrated reporting capability and strong business writing/contract drafting.
- Exceptional ability to establish and manage relationships at all levels, influencing a positive and inclusive workplace culture.
- Ability to think strategically, work independently with limited supervision, and demonstrate initiative and flexibility.
- Strong logical thinking and judgement to define, analyse, and resolve problems effectively.
- Oil/Gas or Utilities industry experience, or a Commercial, Legal, Engineering, or Business-related qualification (e.g., undergraduate degree or MCIPS)
