The C&E Sales Manager co-ordinates and oversees the running of the Conference & Events Department with particular emphasis on growing revenue and accurate forecasting.
They contribute to the selling strategy of the hotel by identifying innovative ways to convert enquiries and developing strong relationships with clients.

We achieve our Vision and Purpose by delivering on our goals and values.Our GoalsGrow revenue ahead of marketBusiness transformationOur ValuesEmpowerment: Step up and be accountablePossibilities: Always evolve and improveCommunity: Strong teams, better togetherCo-ordinate the management of all conference and events sales while maximising yield management.Review business plans, identifying gaps and ensure proactive measures are taken to fill capacity and meet set targets.Participate in the compilation of and active involvement in the budget and business plan process for room revenue related areas.Understand competitors and market trends to develop and implement strategies ensuring the hotel is competitive in every opportunity.Guarantee the accuracy of bookings data specifically related to tracking agent and/or company productivity, booking channels and source coding.Assist the Director of Sales / General Manager in identifying new sources of residential conferences, special events and group bookings.Facilitate and attend networking events, site inspections and internal showcase events.Assist with the coordination and running of special events as required.Coordinate and liaise with other hotel departments to ensure an efficient flow of communication.Arrange, facilitate and attend meetings with management, owners, hotel departments and/or team members as required.Conduct post event follow up calls for every event with the aim of getting detailed client feedback and also securing repeat business.Ensure revenue and payments are calculated and posted correctly on a daily basis in accordance to the contract of each event.Report on conference, events and group holdings as required and pointing out any changes that may impact operations.Manage assets within the conference department so as to protect their long-term investment value.
Report broken or damaged departmental equipment.Maximising the efficiency of the department, ensuring a 24-hour turnaround on enquiries, accurate quotes, contracts, BEO's and details on iVvy whilst maintaining a high service standard.Guarantee the running of the department in accordance to hotel policies, procedures, guidelines and manuals to ensure compliance, safety and profitability.Create, distribute, and manage departmental roster effectively ensuring that strategies and practices are in place to facilitate the efficient and effective staffing of departments such that financial and service targets are achieved.Maintain staff morale and team cohesion through productive and positive leadership.Actively seek and implement ways to increase team morale, develop and retain team members.Actively record, track and review training and development within the department.Effectively use and monitoring of overtime, annual leave, days in lieu, staff breaks and other staff entitlements.Recruit, train and develop conference personnel, including regular performance evaluations and appraisals.Constantly assess training needs of staff and implement or update training manuals.Reviewing and responding to client feedback effectively and efficiently, developing and implementing solutions to specific service problems.Enthusiastically motivate the conference team to contribute to the hotel profitability through up selling and utilisation of the workings of yield manager.Be a brand ambassador for the hotel as well as EVENT Hospitality & Entertainment.Give assistance and support to other departments and/or colleagues when needed.Attend all scheduled meetings.Participate in scheduled training and development programs.The ability to identify, analyse and resolve problems that may arise within the department.Communicating effectively in a caring, fair and professional manner.People focused providing leadership, guidance and assistance to colleagues where needed.Guest focused, providing efficient, friendly and professional service to all guests.Work together with trust and integrity with the aim to create a positive, professional environment of growth, development and profitability.Work, live and play in the mountains
