A terrific opportunity exists to join one of today's most exciting global apparel businesses based in Australia. With sustainability and social impact central to their purpose and values, the role that 'Sustainability' plays are significant.

The role reports to a Head of Sustainability and Public Affairs and will offer the benefit of skilled leadership and mentorship as a recognised expert in the field. The business sits in an interesting niche, somewhere between fashion and medical devices; as a result, the sustainability context is varied and multilayered. You will work across three streams: Circular Design, Climate and Ethical Sourcing. You'll monitor and manage compliance to a range of standards, ensuring new factories are audited, renewals are processed, and opportunities to improve sustainability outcomes are identified and leveraged. With a focus on continuous improvement, you'll constantly be seeking to improve processes and investigate improved ways of working.

You'll balance a focus on detailed work, ensuring risks are mitigated, and compliance obligations are met alongside embracing the need for a broad frame of reference. You'll be required to connect the dots between disparate information under the broad umbrella of Sustainability, being able to identify the associated impacts and opportunities.

We're searching for someone with experience holding a Sustainability specialist role, ideally within têxtiles. However, more crucial than specific sector experience is for someone with a thirst for knowledge, a natural curiosity, and attention to detail.
