About the Community Safety Building Authority
The Community Safety Building Authority (CSBA) within the Department of Justice and Community Safety (DJCS) designs, procures, builds and upgrades the infrastructure needed to keep communities safe.
CSBA provides end-to-end project development, management and delivery of Victoria's new prisons, youth justice centres, court and custody facilities, emergency services facilities and public safety features such as pedestrian walkway bollards and CCTV networks. As well as delivering new infrastructure CSBA modernises, expands and upgrades existing facilities.
CSBA has a highly skilled workforce of experienced professionals from across the public and private sectors that support and deliver the capital projects managed by CSBA. The CSBA team includes specialists in community safety infrastructure, project management, health and safety, engineering, cost management, commercial management, planning and design.
About the Role - Business Support Officer, Commercial & Legal
This is a new role created to support all functions of the Commercial & Legal team. The Commercial & Legal team provides high quality commercial and legal advice and services to support the CSBA Project Streams, including Major Projects and Program Delivery.
Reporting to the Director, Commercial & Legal and working closely with the Executive Director, Commercial & Legal, the Business Support Officer will support the day to day activities of the Commercial & Legal team and will be provided opportunities to develop by working side by side with the practising lawyers in the team to develop knowledge and experience in working with legal documents and contract management. The Business Support Officer will be encouraged to assist in the development of Commercial & Legal processes and to help the team work cohesively and efficiently.
**The key duties of the Business Support Officer include**:
- Providing administrative support to the Commercial and Legal team, such as organising meetings, managing records, correspondence and templates;
- Developing, implementing and maintaining administration systems with scope to innovate and lead process development;
- Assisting the team to managing internal and external relationships and workflow for the support to all areas of the CSBA business;

About you
- Administration relevant experience including knowledge of Microsoft Office and familiarity with document management systems.
- Experience in the legal or construction fields will be considered favourably but is not essential.
- Public sector experience is highly desirable with an understanding of the processes of government.
- Experience working with a variety of people of all experience levels.
- A desire to learn and develop and contribute positively in a team environment
