**About the role**

Working under general direction from the Business Unit Lead-School Services, this role is responsible and accountable for providing strategic interventions to individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder in education and clinical environments, in consultation with Senior School Inclusion Practitioners, Allied Health Professionals, and Parents/ Carers.

We are seeking to employ Autism Inclusion Practitioners to join the Autism SA family based in the North and East metropolitan regions.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Provide strategic 1:1 interventions to school age individuals on the autism spectrum in school settings
- Collaboration with schools & parents delivering evidence-based personalised strategic interventions to children on the autism spectrum
- Development of personalised therapeutic resources / aides supporting the child's progress & inclusion within their school settings
- Development of SMART goals for the individual in consultation with parents/carers and that are reflective of the individuals NDIS plan within the allocated support timeframe.
- Meet caseload targets in the school term and school holidays.
- Provide appropriately written reports including the individual's progress and achievement of SMART goals and recommendations & NDIS Review Reports
- Support the delivery of Training Programs and Tailored Support Packages as required.
- Accurately schedule, validate, and cancel services where appropriate
- Consistently maintain accurate client progress notes using the SOAP(Subjective, Objective, Assessment & Plan)format
- Under guidance of the Business Unit Lead-School Services, identify and pursue potential business development opportunities
- Understands and assists with developing and maintaining positive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Respond to enquiries pertaining to scope of role and refer education inclusion issues through to the Autism Engagement Advisor

**About you**

You have relevant qualifications, expertise and experience to provide person-centered NDIS therapeutic supports and services. The competencies required for this role include:

- Current, or eligibility for, full membership of the relevant professional association e.g., Allied Health Practitioner Regulation Agency, Developmental Educators Association Incorporated, Australian Association of Social Workers, Speech Pathology Australia, (as defined by the NDIS professional qualification requirement of the relevant profession).
- Practical Experience working with individuals on the autism spectrum
- Relevant expertise and experience within the disability / education sectors
- Evidence of ongoing Professional Development in the area of Autism Spectrum Disorder
- Significant understanding and experience in delivering evidence-based strategies & supports for children on the autism spectrum
- Strong people / problem solving skills & the ability to work effectively autonomously
- High level of communication and written report writing
- Experience in working in a multi-disciplinary team environment
- Strong knowledge of Not-for profit sector, NDIS, and its environment
- Knowledge of the Disability Services Acts, and the Disability Discrimination Act
- An enhanced working knowledge of a human rights-based approach and the individual and community context and sector and organisation purpose and values

**Screening & Employment requirements**

Satisfactory outcomes for the following probity checks will be required as a part of your employment:

- DHS Working With Children Check;
- NDIS Worker Screening Check;
- National Police Check (NPC); and
- Full COVID-19 Vaccinations (including boosters)
