**The Community Support and Inclusion (CSI) team is seeking a Support Worker for two young autistic adults with intellectual and physical disabilities. The charming young men live in a modern house and access 24x7 support with Autism SA.**

**The role is based primarily in Felixstow area.**

As a Support Worker for this program, you will report to the Program Coordinator. You will be liaising with the families and other services involved in the support of the young men.

**You would be responsible and accountable for**
- Providing direct support to clients of Autism SA.
- Planning and executing meaningful experiences for the clients and attending and supporting them at appointments.
- Implementing therapy programs and following care plans written by therapists including meal plans, positive behaviour support plans, and other allied health plans.
- Shopping, cooking, personal care, recording routines charts, and documentation.
- Communicating with other service providers including Occupational & Speech Therapists and Community Participation providers as needed regarding the day-to-day support needs of the young men.

**What you need to succeed**:

- Be a passionate, reliable, and dedicated support worker who is looking to grow and further develop your skills.
- Strong ability to work collaboratively with others to ensure a consistent approach to enable clients to reach their goals.
- Experience in or willingness to learn how to support individuals requiring personal care, manual handling, and medication administration via gastrostomy.
- Experience in or willingness to learn alternative communication methods.
- Effective communication skills including report writing and verbal.
- Ability to use initiative to develop solutions to day-to-day challenges.
- Be able to work effectively as part of a team.
- National Police Clearance within the last 3 months
- NDIS Workers Check and DHS Working with Children Check
- Child Safe Environment Training
- Assist with Medication Training
- Full Australian Drivers Licence.

**Desirable**:

- Undergraduate study in an allied health degree such as Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Developmental Education, Speech Pathology, Special Education, or Social Work (desirable) Certificate III in Individual Support or Disability. Similar qualifications or/and relevant industry experience will also be considered.
- Knowledge of the autism spectrum and effective strategies for support.
- Experience implementing Positive Behaviour Support strategies and plans.
