Hays Is working with a local Canberra builder, established over 10 years and have a Built a reputation for delivering quality multi-residential projects. The Directors are well-recognized and well-experienced within commercial and Residential construction sector and their combined knowledge, expertise and Industry connections have seen the company go from strength-to-strength in Recent years and is continuing the upward trend. To support this growing team They are seeking a Safety Officer to ensure a safe work environment.

**Your new role**

In this new & exciting role you will be working a long-side the project team to ensure the safety of staff across all projects. Your daily duties will include however not limited to:

- Conducting site inspections & ensuring all staff have completed inductions
- Ensure all staff are complying to WHS regulations
- Develop and implement the work health & safety plans
- Work closely with the Project Management team to mitigate risks
- Incident investigation

**What you'll need to succeed**

To see you succeed in this role you will have a a true passion for both the construction industry & safety, along with the below skills:

- Certificate IV in Work place health & safety or Equivalent
- Experience in the construction industry, particularly WHS
- Effective communication skills both written & verbal
- Demonstrate a sound understanding of work place health and safety
