Senior Compliance Officer

A leading organization in the Canberra region is seeking an experienced and skilled Senior Compliance Officer to lead its construction crew and ensure compliance with safety rules and regulations.

The Role:

As a senior expert in occupational health and safety, you will be responsible for managing daily activities, conducting regular site inspections, identifying potential hazards, developing strategies to mitigate risks, and implementing corrective actions to prevent accidents.

Your Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Leading the development and implementation of effective safety policies and procedures.
  • Providing guidance and support to onsite teams on WHS legislation and regulations.
  • Conducting regular audits to identify areas for improvement and developing action plans to address these.
  • Maintaining accurate records and reporting incidents in accordance with legislative requirements.
  • Developing and delivering training programs to enhance team skills and knowledge.

Requirements:

- A tertiary qualification in Occupational Health and Safety or a related field.

- Proven experience in a similar role, preferably in the construction industry.

- Expert knowledge of WHS legislation and regulations, including current building codes and standards.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
