**ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY**:
Reporting to the Manager Governance within the Governance and Risk Directorate, the Coordinator Governance is an exciting opportunity in one of NSW's largest Councils.

This is a dynamic opportunity to lead a multi-disciplinary team in providing effective and efficient governance support across Council in areas such as corporate governance, Council and Committee Meeting administration, policy and delegations management, civic engagements and access to information.

The successful applicant will require:

- Relevant qualifications in business administration/local government or similar, and/or extensive experience in a similar role
- Experience in local government administration including the coordination of Council and Committee meetings knowledge of meeting procedures and practices
- Experience in preparing input for and coordinating the preparation of business papers and the taking of minutes at Council meetings
- Demonstrated experience and knowledge in the administration and interpretation of the Local Government Act and Regulations, providing sound governance advice and ensuring Council is compliant with statutory requirements under the Local Government Act
- Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to multitask and meet deadlines
- Demonstrated high level of interpersonal, written and communication skills
- Proven ability to operate in a complex political environment
- Knowledge of legislation that relate to the management and provision of information in local government and oversight of the Access to Information request management of Council
- Demonstrated experience in the coordination of Councillor briefings, workshops and civic events as required.

**Position information**: This is a permanent, full-time position, working a 70 hour fortnight, with access to Council's 9 day fortnight Accrued Day Off (ADO) arrangement.

This role is predominantly located at Council's Merrylands Office, with occasional travel required across Council worksites, and may be required to work across any of Council's work locations.

Hybrid working arrangements are available within this role, by agreement, and in consultation with the Manager.

**Salary information**: The salary and conditions of employment are in accordance with the NSW Local Government (State) Award.
- Grade 13 of the Cumberland Salary Structure with a salary range of $98,083.96 to $112,796.32 per annum, plus 10.5% superannuation
- The commencing salary will be negotiated, taking into consideration the successful applicant's qualifications, skills and experience related to the role
- This role includes after hours attendance at various meetings/committees and overtime rates apply.
