Job Description Summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for Fibre Splicers to join ServiceStream's Telecommunications Division
About the Role

Service Stream's Telecommunications division are currently seeking Fibre Splicers to join our Optus Colossus team. This role requires a competent, experienced Fibre Splicer & Fault Finder on Network. You will have a firm understanding of the OPTUS Fibre Network (Topology) or similar optical networks. There will also be a requirement as part of your technician role to become competent with all FAD installation.

Nature of position: Maximum Term, Full Time

Location: Melbourne, VIC

Reporting Line: State Construction Manager

Key Responsibilities
- Optic fibre testing/splicing and commissioning as appropriate and running Optic Fibre cable
- Inbuilding cabling installations
- NTU Installations and recovery works
- Survey customer site locations for a new fibre installation
- Update appropriate systems with project completion data and maintain databases of reference.
- Carry out site inspections prior to work commencing.
- Maintain network integrity at all times.
- Liaise with Project Management as required.
- Act as the first or second member of a two-person team working in defined confined spaces or larger jobs
- Have the performance of the state front of mind
- Willingness and availability to work on a rotational, on-call, 24/7 roster. Including working away from home, country VIC, or interstate as required.
- Distance to job site shall not be a factor or an issue for the Technician

About You
- Previous experience within fibre Optical networks (stranded fibre)
- Proven track record of experience
- Regulatory certification as required
- Certificate III in Telecommunications
- Industry accreditation within the Telecommunications Industry
- Current driver's licence
