Fibre Splicer

**Key Duties and Responsibilities**
- Install, splice and terminate NBN fibre optic equipment (DJL,FJL, BJL etc)
- Understanding of Type 2 & 3 FTTP architecture
- Termination of Customer Connection Modules in SDUs and MDUs (PCD-BFD-BTD-SDT-NTD)
- Use OTDR, power meter & fibre light source for commissioning
- Updating of NBN fibre workbooks
- Exchange testing and patching
- Internal cabling and installation works
- Working in a team to complete pipe proving & cable hauling
- Commissioning and integration of NBN fibre optic equipment

**Required Skills and Experience**
Essential
- Experience working as an Optical Fibre Technician on the NBN project
- Single & ribbon fibre splicing and OTDR experience
- The ability to read and understand cable plans and designs
- Current Australian Drivers Licence (Confidence driving large vans)
- OHS Construction Card
- NBN Enable Splicing Accreditations (Skill 9, 12, 13)
- Willingness to work across Melbourne metro
- Can do attitude and pride in work
- Police check (within 6 months): Must be clear with no convictions.
- Full Australian Work Rights.
- Position requires willingness to get Flu and Covid Vaccinations
- Work well independently and in a team environment
- Physically Fit

**Desirable**
- Inducted with Servicestream, Ventia & Fulton Hogan
- Optical Fibre Accreditation
- ACMA (Open) registration
- Internal cabling experience
- Valid Traffic Management, First Aid/CPR, Confined Space and Gas Detection tickets

**Remuneration**
- Hourly rate based on experience and productivity
- Vehicle and fuel provided

**Salary**: $30.00 - $40.00 per hour
