Senior Project Manager – Client Side – Commercial High Rise Our client is a boutique client-side project and construction management consultancy providing independent and professional services for property, construction and infrastructure projects.
They are looking for an enthusiastic Senior Project Manager to join their team in Sydney.
As Senior Project Manager , you will be responsible for the delivery of a large-scale new-build commercial/life science project.
Experience running projects through the full 360 project life cycle is ideal.
The project will be medium to high rise with a laboratory specification fit-out.
Ideal candidates will have experience on both head contractor and consultancy/client-side environments, though this is not mandatory.
The candidate will likely be involved in detailed design, value engineering, tender documents, advising and appointing consultants and the head contractor, project management and superintendent duties during delivery.
Candidates should have experience on new builds or extensions in sectors such as commercial medium to high rise, health, pharma, labs, research, life sciences, etc.
The role emphasizes stakeholder management, clear verbal and written communication, client-facing interactions, strong technical knowledge, design capability, and contract administration with a can-do attitude.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Client management and consultation Project planning and feasibility studies Design management and value engineering Procurement of construction services Delivery of construction services Cost control, cost reporting and superintendent duties Commissioning and post-contract duties for handover Oversight and delivery of the project Demonstrated experience on projects involving physical containment laboratories or cGMP-grade zones Demonstrated experience managing commercial base-build projects Demonstrated experience managing teams of consultants, contractors and subcontractors Demonstrated experience managing CC, OC and post-approvals associated with conditions of consent Qualifications and Requirements: Minimum 5–15+ years managing commercial medium to high-rise / life science projects Proven knowledge of contract administration and base-build construction Experience managing general conditions of contract such as AS4902 Strong understanding of overall construction programmes and plans Able to identify key client and builder obligations Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to build rapport at all levels Advanced computer literacy Advanced skills with Microsoft Excel This is a permanent full-time position offering challenging work and potential for career progression within a growing organisation.
