Even better.Ideal if you're based in or around Newcastle, including:Swansea, Hamilton, Mayfield, Merewether, Adamstown, Charlestown, Waratah, Jesmond, Lambton, Wallsend, Kotara, or surrounding areas.About The RoleThe Mental Health/Disability Support Worker will provide support with people living with complex trauma, high challenging behaviors, and/or high physical / Clinical to align with their individual program plan.Working with external care teams and families, the role is responsible for providing high-quality, responsive, and person-centered support to assist participants enhance their everyday living skills, gain access and participation in community to achieve their goals, enhance their quality of life and physical and mental health.Supporting clients with personal care, community access, and daily routinesWorking in participants' homes or in our purpose-built Vertical Villages (SIL/SDA)Managing complex needs including behaviours of concern, trauma, forensic backgrounds, and high clinical needsAdministering medication and following detailed health support plansImplementing behaviour support plans and using de-escalation techniquesProviding meaningful, person-centred care to NDIS participantsCollaborating with clinicians, case workers, and familiesAbout YouYou will thrive and succeed in our team by bringing the following experience to this position:Minimum 6 months' experience in disability, aged care, mental health, or related fieldsCertificate III/IV/Diploma in Disability, Individual Support, Aged Care, or similar (preferred)Experience supporting people with mental illness, high physical needs, and behaviours of concernDemonstrated experience with high physical and clinical needs, including medication administrationStrong understanding of professional boundaries, restrictive practices, and behaviour supportEffective written and verbal communication, including clear case note writingAble to set priorities, meet deadlines, and work under pressure with minimal supervisionStrong interpersonal skills to work both autonomously and as part of a teamNDIS Worker Screening, First Aid, Driver's Licence, and insured vehicleIf you're passionate about helping people live life on their terms, we want to hear from you.Apply now to build a meaningful career supporting independence, inclusion, and choice.Seniority levelSeniority levelEntry levelEmployment typeEmployment typePart-timeJob functionJob functionOtherIndustriesHospitals and Health CareReferrals increase your chances of interviewing at United for Care by 2xWe're unlocking community knowledge in a new way.
